MorGen Energy is a developer of large-scale green hydrogen ecosystems in Europe. Our projects cover different parts of the green hydrogen value chain from production to distribution and consumption. Major green hydrogen production projects include a 1GW plant in Esbjerg, Denmark converting offshore wind power, and a 20MW plant in Milford Haven, South Wales.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take a project leadership role in the development of our Power-to-X Plants. The role is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy transition in the fast-growing green hydrogen space. You will be working closely with a dynamic international team of technical/commercial personnel, you will provide expert project management leadership to lead projects from concept development through to FID and into execution. You will add value across the project by proactively leading and guiding the development of the project, working closely with Business Development and our in-house project, procurement, and engineering team, as well as managing contractors and coordinating with stakeholders and partners. The role reports to the Head of Projects and will be based in Zurich with considerable travel.

Responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and delivery of MorGen Energy’s first PtX projects to achieve planned quality, schedule, and cost targets
  • Coordinate closely across internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure effective risk management and mitigation
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project development plans are robust and at a standard to pass external due diligence
  • Provide strong safety leadership to ensure effective HSE management, achieving accident-free project delivery
  • Develop contracting strategies and ensure effective contractor management, working closely with procurement & contracting teams to manage contractor performance
  • Coordinate with the procurement and technical teams to ensure effective contract and commercial management of contracts
  • Support the development of effective supplier relationships and delivery of supply commitments
  • Work closely with the business / technical functions to effectively manage risk and mitigate claims
  • Represent MorGen Energy with the highest professional and ethical standards

Desired expertise and skills

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. engineering / technical degree
  • 10 years working experience (depending on role) in direct project management of complex industrial facilities
  • Previous experience and/or understanding of the process and/or hydrogen industry
  • You have good leadership and communication skills
  • You are highly motivated, have a structured, results-driven approach, and are able to work independently
  • Strong HSE management capability and leadership
  • You are proactive in your approach and able to prioritise critical activities whilst managing a large portfolio of tasks
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in various countries and cultures
  • You have a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English /German.
