Investment Associate, Natural Capital

Our client is a pioneering natural capital investment firm bridging the gap between carbon markets and institutional capital. They partner with leading corporations and project developers to structure investments in high-quality nature-based removal projects. With a focus on production-linked financing and long-term off-take agreements, they're reshaping how capital is deployed in voluntary carbon markets.
Role Overview: As an Investment Associate in the founding team, you will be integral to the growth of the business. You will be working directly with the founding partners, supporting deal execution for nature-based removal projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Support: Lead financial modelling, valuation analysis, and due diligence for nature-based carbon projects
- Deal Screening: Evaluate new investment opportunities with a focus on nature-based removal projects against defined investment criteria
- Investment Analysis: Structure innovative financing solutions including corporate off-take agreements and price protection mechanisms
- Portfolio Management: Support ongoing monitoring and reporting of project investments
- Market Research: Monitor carbon market trends and support development of investment theses in the voluntary carbon market
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in investment banking (preferably in natural resources, renewable energy or infrastructure teams) OR at an infrastructure/natural capital fund
- Ability to analyse complex project structures and assess risk-return profiles
- Exceptional skills in investment analysis, cash flow modelling, sensitivity analysis and asset backed structuring
- Experience in developing complex project finance, infrastructure investment or structured finance models is a strong plus
- Strong experience in creating investment marketing materials and presentations
- Understanding of carbon markets, nature-based solutions, or environmental commodities is a plus
- Strong academic credential with degree in finance, economics, engineering, CFA and related fields
- Ability to work in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with the founding team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver against tight timelines
