Senior PPG algorithm engineer

Liom is a Swiss health-tech startup dedicated to revolutionizing the field of personalized health monitoring. Our objective is to develop the first health wearable monitoring glucose non-invasively. We will launch our wearable as a consumer product in the EU in H1’2027, and then as a medically cleared product in the US. Our team consists of over 80 staff, including more than 50 PhDs, with deep expertise in entrepreneurship, product development, and the required engineering as well as scientific disciplines. We are operating out of our lab facilities in Pfäffikon SZ, Switzerland, and our office in San Francisco, United States.

• Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a comparable qualification
• 5+ years of experience developing signal processing or machine learning algorithms for PPG or biosignals
• 3+ years of experience delivering algorithms as part of consumer-grade products
• Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C/C++, and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Proven experience in sourcing, preprocessing, and validating biosignal datasets
• Familiarity with wearable devices, health monitoring, or related domains is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams

• Develop and optimize PPG signal processing algorithms for signals like heart rate, HRV, and SpO2 for low power health wearables
• Define data requirements, source datasets, and build pipelines for data preprocessing and validation
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate and deploy algorithms on the smartwatch platform
• Establish testing frameworks to validate algorithm accuracy across diverse populations and environments
• Drive end-to-end delivery of PPG features, from concept to production, with minimal supervision
