Crypto Finance Group, part of Deutsche Börse Group, provides professional digital asset solutions to institutional clients. The Group comprises of Crypto Finance AG, regulated by FINMA in Switzerland, which offers trading, custody, and wallet services, as well as Crypto Finance (Deutschland) GmbH, regulated by BaFin in Germany, which offers trading and custody.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Regulatory Reporting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting to FINMA (for the parent company) and to BaFin (for the Germany subsidiary). The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of financial regulations, a strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements, and the ability to interpret and apply these regulations to ensure compliance. In addition to this, the ideal candidate will be adept at analysing data extracted from a core banking system and liaising with our outsourcing partner. In this role, you will report directly to the Group CRO of Crypto Finance Group.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

  1. Preparing, submitting, and monitoring regular and ad-hoc regulatory reports to FINMA for the Swiss entity (parent company) and to BaFin for the Germany subsidiary, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.
  2. Staying up to date on the latest changes in regulatory frameworks, including Basel III.
  3. Ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports to FINMA, e.g. capital requirements, large exposure, LCR, NSFR, etc. and other regulatory duties to BaFin, e.g. ICAAP, ILAAP etc.
  4. Liaising with internal stakeholders (finance, risk, etc.) as well as external outsourcing partners to gather required data for regulatory submissions.

Regulatory Interpretation & Advisory

  1. Interpreting regulatory changes and communicating their impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Providing advice on regulatory requirements and assisting in the design and implementation of new products to ensure ongoing compliance.
  3. Working closely with legal and compliance teams to address any queries regarding regulatory issues.

Data Collection & Analysis

  1. Coordinating the collection, validation, and reconciliation of financial data required for reporting.
  2. Analysing financial data for discrepancies and ensuring that data is consistent with regulatory reporting requirements.
  3. Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in reporting systems, using advanced Excel to double-check output.

Audit & Inspection Support

  1. Assisting in the preparation of materials for regulatory audits, inspections, and reviews by FINMA / BaFin.
  2. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of regulatory reports, data sources, and methodologies to ensure transparency and audit readiness.
  3. Supporting internal or external audits by providing clarifications and evidence as required.

Continuous Improvement

  1. Identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  2. Participating in cross-functional teams to implement system improvements and regulatory changes.
  3. Continuously enhancing knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure the company stays ahead of regulatory requirements.
  4. Developing a strong controls framework around regulatory reporting.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Master's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of financial services experience in a Risk, Compliance, Audit, or Control role.
  3. Proven experience in regulatory reporting, ideally in the financial services industry, with specific knowledge of FINMA (Switzerland) and BaFin (Germany) regulations.
  4. Strong understanding of financial statements, risk management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., capital requirements, large exposure, leverage ratio, LCR, NSFR, ICAAP, etc.).
  5. Knowledge of Navision (core banking system) and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) is a plus.
  6. Experience in crypto and/or trading is a plus.
  7. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Fluent in English; good knowledge in German is a plus.
  9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments.
  10. A dynamic person with an innovative spirit, a positive attitude, and strong motivational skills.
  11. Self-driven, results-oriented, and hands-on.
