Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).Experience researching AI products.Experience with natural language processing concepts and their application in user experience.Experience defining and measuring critical user journeys and sentiments.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field.Experience in a variety of product spaces, applied research, or academic settings.Experience communicating user research findings with cross‑functional partners to drive impact.Experience with statistical analysis tools and data visualization.Understanding of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.ResponsibilitiesPlan, design, execute, analyze, and report on qualitative and quantitative studies (e.g., qualitative interviews, usability testing, diary studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).Understand user expectations and mental models around content creation, with and without AI assistance.Measure and track user sentiment toward critical creator experiences, including AI‑generated answers and interactions.Be a reliable, trusted partner for product managers, engineering, UX, and research managers to define and run research in a changing environment.Communicate research insights to the team and stakeholders in an effective and compelling way, influencing evidence‑based decision making.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
