This Position reports to: Team Leader Product Engineering Your role and responsibilities In our Product Engineering team, we are currently looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to support our Medium-Voltage drives portfolio. In this role you will be part of the engineering team and report to the Engineering Manager. You will support maintaining the product portfolio, develop electrical designs, generate electrical drawings and documentation, and create update kits for our installed base. The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid This role is contributing to the Medium Voltage System Drives, Motion High Power Division, in Untersiggenthal, Switzerland. You will be mainly accountable for: Acting as electrical engineer by ensuring proper designs and design updates for the medium-voltage drives portfolio, while coordinating with mechanical, product compliance, control engineering, and release managers. Creating and modifying electrical control and power distribution schematics, maintaining the tools landscape, and producing all required documentation (schemas, test documents, etc.). Estimating and sizing auxiliary power distribution and control cables, and providing electrical designs with minimal guidance from the manager. Providing technical support for electrical testing processes and assembly lines for existing products and escalated customer cases, while collaborating on continuous product and process improvements. Qualifications for the role You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field. You have several years of experience in designing electrical power distribution systems and creating electrical circuit diagrams. You have in-depth knowledge of ABB’s active medium-voltage drives portfolio as well as legacy products. You are detail-oriented, innovative, and solution-focused in your approach to issues. You are highly organized with keen efficiency and professionalism, having proficient collaboration and communication skills. You have experience in project management and interdisciplinary collaboration, along with solid skills in Office 365, SAP, and E-CAD tools (E-Plan, E3, etc.). You are fluent in German and English, enabling effective communication in an international environment.
