We are seeking a skilled and motivated DeFi Trading Engineer to deliver functionality for new and existing trading strategies. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of blockchains, DeFi, and experience in automated trading. You will work with the Quant Trading Team and other Engineers across the project lifecycle, from ideation to delivery, influence design, present ideas, and test hypotheses. The role includes on-chain and off-chain coding to build secure and performant systems that run 24/7 with minimal oversight. Familiarity with DEXs, protocol mechanics, blockchain fundamentals and smart contract security is desirable.Your responsibilitiesDesigning and developing robust and scalable software for on-chain systematic trading.Maintaining and extending off-chain applications written in Rust to support pricing, order management, real-time risk and monitoring.Writing smart contracts to support efficient and secure on-chain execution.Collaborating as part of a global team with open communication and a strong focus on delivery.Keeping up to date with developments within DeFi to identify short-term opportunities and inform our long-term strategy.Your qualifications / attributesBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.2+ years of experience writing production-quality code in a compiled language.Proficiency in web3 programming with languages such as Rust, Python or TypeScript.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying technical concepts.Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on code quality, maintainability and documentation.Nice to haveExperience with non-EVM blockchains (e.g., Solana, Cosmos, Aptos, Sui).Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of trading applications.Experience with cloud computing and distributed systems.What we offerA collaborative and transparent company culture founded on Integrity, Innovation and Performance.Competitive salary with two discretionary bonus payments a year.Benefits including Healthcare, Dental, Vision, Retirement Planning, 30 days holiday and free lunches when in the office.Regular Town Halls, team lunches and drinks.A Corporate and Social Responsibility program, charity fundraising matching and volunteer days.GSR is proudly an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
