We believe that inclusion is key to understanding people’s varied healthcare needs. Together, we embrace individuality and share a passion for exceptional care. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love. That’s what makes us Roche.

The Opportunity

The Global Supply Chain and Product Strategy Organization (PTS) seamlessly connects markets to the global manufacturing network by managing inventory, supply and replenishment planning. We orchestrate the value streams between sites and affiliates by balancing demand and supply, and ensure right first time order fulfillment and delivery of medicines across the global network. In addition, we are also accountable for product strategies, leading in the design of products and supply chain in line with go to market strategies and ensuring the health of our products.

We are an agile organization with clear accountabilities and a purpose driven culture that is built on trust and collaboration, where people are inspired to co-create solutions and develop the capabilities required to deliver our mission. The Supply Chain Insights and Performance team is newly set up within PTS with the following objectives:

  • Benchmark and embed best practices in E2E supply chain processes through stronger orchestration across the enterprise, further accelerated by a strong focus on continuous improvement and performance management, and building capabilities where required.
  • Accelerate performance improvement by actively seeking opportunities to optimize operations and eliminate inefficiencies. This is enabled by identifying challenges and opportunities from insights, proposing solutions, and supporting the change deployment across the supply chain.
  • Establish a supply chain performance management office equipped with a strong Business Insights & Analytics engine that defines a clear and unified vision of what good performance is, while offering insights on our opportunities to do better.

The Supply Chain Enterprise Capability Lead is a key member of this new team reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Insights and Performance. This role is responsible for leading the development, integration and catalyzing the maturity of E2E supply chain processes across the enterprise. Examples of end-to-end supply chain processes include issue and change management, Global S&OP, product launch execution, and supply chain design. In this role the Supply Chain Enterprise Capability Lead will also be an agent to accelerate the application of continuous improvement principles and practices, including external benchmarking.

Your general accountability is defined by the Roche corporate directives, guidelines, and operating principles, as well as by the company’s core values and behaviors. In the particular role you will be accountable to:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and adherence to best practices. Orchestrate capability building, including developing competencies to enhance performance and process maturity.
  • Oversee data integration from various sources to ensure accurate and timely data flow, supporting decision-making and operational efficiency. Optimize tools and systems, evaluating and recommending enhancements or new systems to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise (supply chain, technical operations, global product strategy, development, commercial, and finance) to ensure alignment and effective execution of processes.
  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to supervise process effectiveness, driving continuous improvement through external benchmarking and performance tracking.

Who you are

Both skills and attitude will be essential to succeed in this role. Experience and expertise form an important foundation for success, but your attitude will make the difference. The successful candidate will be able to zoom into the details, and zoom out to put the details into the proper context of E2E processes. In this role you need to balance functional priorities (yours, and those of others) with the broader enterprise priorities, and influence others to change in the service of the enterprise. A growth mindset and curiosity will be keys to success. For this position we are looking for someone with:

  • Over 15 years of professional experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries, with successful implementation of E2E supply chain processes (e.g., S&OP, supply chain design, product launch). Holds an MBA or M.Sc. in supply chain or similar, with preferred APICS and Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Solid track record in implementing change, particularly in the life sciences industry, and successfully navigating cross-cultural matrix environments. Ability to negotiate, influence, and achieve results both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Strong understanding of strategy, finance, and aligning supply chain operations. Demonstrated ability to apply process and system thinking to optimize business operations and organizational efficiency. Excellent English communication skills.
  • Goal-directed and persistent in achieving key results, holding oneself and the team accountable for commitments. Links responsibilities with the organization's mission, adapts to changing circumstances, and focuses on high-value activities.
  • Establishes strong collaborative relationships, resolves conflict by fostering willingness and trust, inspires and supports team members, and recognizes their contributions.
  • Develop and implement business rules, procedures, and policies for consistent operational performance and proactive risk management. Define, implement, and sustain resiliency measures to ensure high service levels and supervise supply chain risks.
  • Use end-to-end system thinking to continuously assess and understand supply chain dynamics. Capture, integrate, and analyze data for process and performance optimization, and deploy appropriate systems and technologies to achieve desired goals.

Are you ready to apply? We want someone who thinks beyond the job offered - someone who knows that this position can be an outstanding opportunity to craft the future of Roche.
