The Engineering Department (EN) pushes the boundaries of technology to deliver innovative research tools to the global physics and engineering community. This position is within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) Group, which maintains and further develops over 40 years of expertise in the mechanical design, manufacturing, and assembly of accelerator and detector devices.
As a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in the Fabrication Methods and Subcontracting Section (EN-MME-FS), you will be responsible for the fabrication of complex components using a wide range of technologies, including state-of-the-art machining, forming, and welding. Manufacturing may take place either internally in one of the Group's workshops or externally through subcontracting to industry.
The role involves visits to suppliers in CERN Member States responsible for manufacturing these components, providing a unique opportunity to work closely with industrial partners and gain exposure to diverse industrial environments.
