We are developing Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) to world-leading performance with our customers for applications in Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space, Biosensors and more.

To support our growth, we are looking for a:

Senior Back-End Engineer
Integrated Photonics

Tasks

Defining, setting up, and managing the cost optimized processes and infrastructure for our photonic integrated circuit back-end prototyping and production. This role involves hands-on execution of processes, transitioning to overseeing and training operators, and ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Define and establish backend processes including optical inspection, PCM characterization, and pick-and-place operations.
  • Set up and maintain the necessary infrastructure and equipment for production.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Execute backend processes, including visual inspection, optical testing of process control monitoring (PCM) cells, sorting and pick-and-place into carriers and train operators with further growth.
  • Perform data analysis and create a yield reporting and feed back to the front end processing team and contribute to root cause analysis investigations.
  • Ensure product conformity, execute or escalate dispatch decisions, create quality reports and Certificates of Conformity for the customer
  • Responsible for inventory system and related improvements
  • Improve and automate the back-end processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvement and innovation
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, physical or nano engineering.
  • Min of 2 years of industrial working experience in quality assurance, testing or product delivery process definition.
  • Experience of work in the cleanroom environment and micro fabrication techniques is a plus.
  • Understanding of photonic devices like modulators, photodiodes and lasers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of python for statistical data analysis.
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
  • Open-minded, critical, and innovative.
