We're a unique blend of agility, speed, and innovation, fusing a start-up mindset with decades of industry expertise and a track record of 100% mission success. Our dynamic team of over 1700 professionals, spread across 13 locations in six countries, is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what is technically feasible. We're not just building crucial products for the satellites and launchers industry, we’re helping to improve life on earth. /p h3Your Crew /h3 pBy joining the Satellites Division and the Strategic Projects Department, along with our multidisciplinary engineers, you’ll contribute to the development of technologies for future satellite payloads in a multicultural environment. Our collaborative and lean organization encourages creativity and professional development, supported by highly skilled experts. /p h3Your Mission: /h3 pSpace systems are becoming increasingly complex, and the need for accurate, modular simulation environments is critical for design, validation, and operations. A Digital Twin offers a powerful way to emulate spacecraft behavior, enabling engineers to test algorithms, predict performance, and inject faults without costly hardware campaigns. /p pThe goal of this project is to lay the foundation of a Digital Twin demonstrator for the Multi-Purpose Platform Satellite (MPP) in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). This twin will replicate selected subsystems and provide a backbone for simulation services and visualization. /p pThe work will focus on interface-driven architecture, ensuring modularity and reusability across hardware models and algorithms. If time permits, this project will also address failure injections, a key metric for simulator quality, and define observability hooks for real‑time monitoring. To achieve this, you will: /p ul liDefine system boundaries for the different Subsystems and avoid “does‑everything” complexity. /li liDefine and document simulation capabilities, including physics‑based and subsystem‑level simulation behavior. /li liSpecify interfaces (ICDs) for the models: inputs, outputs, states, parameters. /li liCreate the High‑level functional architecture of the different layers. /li liDefine dependencies and outputs/inputs of the submodules of digital twin. /li liImplement core models (hardware emulation and algorithmic control laws). /li liDefine and interconnect all electrical interfaces between all the subsystems. /li liDefine power budget dynamic behavior based on satellite mode and operation interconnect. /li liEnhance an existing simulation backbone for scheduling, logging, telemetry routing, and command dispatch, built in Rust. /li liIntegrate visualization tools and assess feasibility with the GUI to allow the user to generate specific amount of data inputs connected withother existing modules of the DT, as well as creating plot rendering based on simulation outputs. /li liIf time permits, design and execute failure injection scenarios to validate robustness. /li liContribute to delivering a working Digital Twin slice, enabling Beyond Gravity to accelerate engineering workflows and lay the foundation for a scalable simulation ecosystem. As such: /li liTake responsibility and ownershipto ensure the digital twin code is set up correctly. /li liDocument requirements, architecture, and test results for future reuse, including a description of the environment, the installation procedure and configuration, as well as a thorough handover documentation. /li /ul h3Your Story: /h3 ul liEnrolled in Msc. at a technical university or similar in the field of aerospace engineering, system engineering, physics, Electrical Engineering or software engineering /li liDiscipline expert with modelling and software development skills /li liCoding language: being able to program in C/C++ or Rust as a baseline, implement tests and documentations, MatLab and Simulink are a plus /li liSpace engineering: understand satellite orbital mechanics and systems /li liEngineering and scientific curiosity, proactive attitude /li liGood independence, team‑working abilities and communication skills /li liEnglish working proficiency and German is a nice to have /li /ul h3Are you ready for lift-off? /h3 pOur core values
