Junior Risk Officer

Junior Risk Officer

We are looking for a Junior Risk Officer to support our company’s growth. You will be responsible for measuring and monitoring the different risks incurred by the company and the managed vehicles. You will enforce risk limits, maintain databases, ensure the understanding of risk rules across all aspects of the business and provide guidance on technical matters. You will report to the Chief Risk Officer.

 

Your mission is to identify, measure, monitor and mitigate the relevant risks and ensure that the business development remains within the defined risk appetite.

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Producing risk limit reports aligned with respective sub-funds PPM (Private Placement Memorandum).
  • Producing the Marked to Market Collateral Reports.
  • Contributing to the establishment of an effective monitoring process by regularly executing collateral checks.
  • Developing and maintaining an updated collateral directory to be shared with service providers.
  • Producing the risk overview and Portfolio AUM reports for each of the active sub-funds.
  • Applying pre-transaction controls to validate transactions.
  • Assessing post-investment transactions, provide recommendations and risk mitigation strategies/actions to the relevant authority level.
  • Participating in functioning and developing of the internal control system.
  • Proactively identifying and reporting watch-list cases and any other credit issues.
  • Performing ad-hoc data analytics as required.

 

Work Experience, Qualifications and Skills

 

  • 3+ years’ work experience in risk management with an asset manager, bank, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Finance, Economics and/or International Business.
  • Additional certification/diploma with specific focus on risk would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of commodity markets and trade finance.
  • Financial analysis skills and ability to analyze asset and portfolio risks.
  • Resilience across complex and fast-changing reporting processes.
  • Resourceful with a capacity to handle multiple tasks daily, in a timely and reliable manner.
  • Team player
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Good command of MS-office, mathematical software an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and French with excellent written and verbal communication skills; other languages would be a plus.
