You’ll shape and evolve the frontend architecture powering our portals, create shared frontend solutions adopted by multiple teams, and orchestrate complex initiatives. /p pbMeet the team /b /p pAt SMG, our strength lies in our people. - bLinkedIn /b /li /ul pbAt a high level, you will: /b /p ul libSet technical direction /b for frontend across multiple teams, bbuilding alignment /b among engineers, product managers, designers and senior stakeholders. /li libInfluence /b roadmaps, investment decisions, and engineering priorities by connecting frontend strategy to business outcomes, delivery risk and customer impact. /li liDefining and bdriving the culture of engineering excellence /b, while leading the evolution of our Real Estate frontend architecture to support future requirements, setting and improving SLAs/SLOs and anticipating ripple effects across systems together with other engineers and principals. /li liAct as a btrusted technical leader /b across teams and locations for frontend topics, shaping how web experiences are built across our organisation and influencing decisions at both team and leadership levels. /li liRepresent frontend engineering in cross-functional and leadership discussions, helping the organisation make better long-term technical trade-offs. /li liDesign and create shared frontend libraries, components and tooling (e.g. design system, performance monitoring) that are widely used by internal teams, focusing on pragmatic, reusable solutions and driving their adoption. /li liOrchestrate multi-system refactors and migrations like framework upgrades, cross-product harmonisation. /li libMentor and coach /b other engineers through structured mentorship, pairing, and feedback, helping them grow their skills and closing skill gaps you observe in the organisation by organising structured trainings for our people. /li liModel a healthy feedback culture, helping people navigate tough conversations and conflicts in a constructive, blameless way. /li liChallenge and bimprove team and cross-team processes /b, suggesting changes that improve focus, quality, and speed when needed. /li liYou’ll still write plenty of code, but your impact will be measured just as much by how you multiply the effectiveness of others as by your individual output. /li /ul pbYour day-to-day /b /p ul liYou’ll be part of a product team, splitting time about half and half between product delivery and staff responsibilities, depending on the current needs and priorities /li liInnovate, design, implement, and deploy frontend-focused engineering solutions for our products, from discovery to production. /li liBuild alignment across teams with different goals and constraints, and unblock progress on ambiguous, cross-cutting initiatives. Step in to create clarity, momentum, and shared ownership when needed. /li liOwn the end-to-end technical vision for key user journeys like Homegate and Immoscout24 and more, with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, UX quality, and reliability /li liLead cross-team frontend initiatives (for example: shared design system improvements, cross-brand UI harmonisation, performance budgets, or observability patterns). /li liIdentify and surface cross-cutting technical bottlenecks, such as performance drags in the core user journey or build-time inefficiencies, and advocate for their resolution at the leadership level. /li liCollaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to shape technical strategy and trade-offs for new features and platform work /li liPartner with DevX to co-develop engineering 'blueprints' and health scorecards, setting the gold standard for what 'good' looks like in our frontend repositories /li liEvaluate, prototype, and introduce new frontend technologies and approaches (frameworks, tooling, patterns), document your findings, and drive adoption where they make sense /li liOwn and evolve the Frontend ADR process, ensuring technical decisions are documented, socialised, and consistently implemented across our organisation /li liGuide and review the work of other engineers through design reviews, code reviews, guild, and informal coaching. /li liHelp the team embrace and leverage AI large language models in our engineering workflows and products /li liContribute to and facilitate the frontend gui
