Niantic's Security Team seeks a Senior Security SRE to improve the security stance of our production environment and deployments. Niantic Engineering leads the advancement of AR and other immersive technologies while creating engaging apps for a user base in the billions. We seek creative engineers with excellent technical judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and an eagerness to embrace new technologies.
Responsibilities- You perform security reviews of our platform and production environments.
- You help build up hardened in-house OS images and configurations for deployment in virtual machines and Docker / Kubernetes.
- You lead the security industry to the next level by building out tooling and launching high impact efforts to support the engineering organization with security topics.
- You help site reliability engineers in security concerns, codify deployment practices across teams and participate in the SRE on-call rotation..
- You collaborate with the SRE team and engineering leadership on the rollout of security measures.
- You provide creative solutions to improve Niantic's security.
- You can demonstrate strong programming skills in any of Go, Python, Java.
- You have 5+ years of experience in a global company with cloud-centric infrastructure.
- You have an in-depth understanding of Cloud technologies.
- You have experience building out tooling, helping engineers and improving security.
- You have demonstrated strong communication and team skills in a distributed environment.
- You have experience in multi-cloud environments (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud).
- You have software development or project management experience.
Niantic's global-scale augmented reality platform and digital map powers spatial computing experiences in the real world. Incubated out of the Maps team at Google, Niantic first created Ingress and then Pokémon GO, a cultural phenomenon and hit game played by tens of millions of people each month. Niantic's Lightship platform, which powers Pokémon GO, also supports the company's other games including Pikmin Bloom, Peridot and Monster Hunter Now. Developers use Niantic's platform to build their own AR applications and experiences, either with the Lightship Platform or directly through the web with 8th Wall.
