Summary / Role Purpose

The Account Representative serves as the main point of contact between Ansys and customers in a designated area and portfolio of named accounts. The Account Representative is tasked with upholding current customer accounts and cultivating new ones. An effective Account Representative increases sales profitability, growth, and account reach.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engages in sales activities, establishes, nurtures, and maintains business relationships with existing and potential customers to retain current business and secure new business within a specified geographic area and portfolio of named accounts to meet or surpass revenue targets.
  • Markets products/services through phone and face-to-face interactions.
  • Identifies customer pain points, repercussions, and desired positive business outcomes to pinpoint the optimal solution. Clearly articulates the value of the company's products/services through data and evidence while aligning with the customer's needs and distinguishing from competitors.
  • Develops and sustains account strategies for current customers emphasizing profile, market share, and value opportunities.
  • Researches outlets for acquiring potential customers or expanding within existing customer groups and for data to evaluate their potential.
  • Prepares comprehensive written proposals/quotations for current and potential customers.
  • Collaborates sales endeavors with marketing, account team, sales management, accounting, legal, and technical services units.
  • Delivers precise forecasts for new sales and renewal revenues.
  • Participates in trade shows and conferences; arranges training and workshops to advance new business prospects.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in technical, engineering, business, or related field with 1+ years of success in technical sales roles.
  • Demonstrated grasp of engineering analysis and technology.
  • Superb communication and organizational abilities and capacity to work autonomously.
  • Proficient in German and English.
  • Travel: up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in French.
  • Proven understanding of the company's products/services and pricing strategies.
  • Familiarity with the specific territory, product line, or customer(s).
