Senior Client Manager, Multilateral Development Banks

About the Role:
As a Senior Client Manager, you are responsible for developing business with Multilateral Development Bank (MDBs) clients, encompassing sovereign and nonsovereign operations. MDBs seek cooperation with the (re)insurance industry to manage and transfer unique risks for their clients, increasing resilience and attracting private investments.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the activities of MDBs, possessing a deep understanding of their business models in collaboration with the private sector.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the global coverage of key clients, establish and oversee a worldwide network of partners to identify potential areas for collaboration.
- Initiate opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Swiss Re Group to implement them.
- Utilize MDB public platforms and major events to expand Swiss Re's public sector client portfolio, grasp the evolving MDB agendas, and exhibit Swiss Re's capabilities.
Zurich is the preferred location, although candidates from other Swiss Re offices in Europe will be given serious consideration.
About the Team:
You will join the global Public Sector Solutions team, dedicated to discovering innovative solutions to address challenges faced by public entities. The team provides various risk transfer solutions, ranging from unconventional products like catastrophe bonds to insurance coverages for coral reefs. Main activities revolve around natural disasters, weather risks, credit and political risks, agriculture, as well as life and health.
About You:
We are seeking a versatile individual who can quickly establish connections, manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate with experts, identify gaps in team efforts, and take initiative when needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in client-facing roles within (re)insurance, banking, or financial services.
- Demonstrated versatility in handling a wide product range, diverse client base, and global operations, managing multiple opportunities concurrently.
- Profound understanding of at least one primary risk area (such as credit, political risk, natural disasters).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the priorities, distinctive features, and operational capacities of MDBs is crucial for effective origination in this role.
