A boutique fund in quantitative finance and alternative investment strategies is seeking a Senior Quantitative Developer. The position is for their Zürich office.

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing and refining the firm's software infrastructure for algorithmic trading, which includes tasks such as monitoring, data acquisition, and interfaces with brokers/exchanges.
  • Taking ownership of critical components of the firm's software infrastructure for algorithmic trading.
  • Expanding and creating software solutions for quantitative research, including tools for backtesting, portfolio performance attribution, data pipelines, and various analytical instruments.

Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or a related technological field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in building and maintaining complex software applications.
  • Knowledge of the trading domain and prior experience with the development of trading systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in writing high-quality concurrent code in Rust, C++, or Go (with a preference for Rust).
  • The ability to rapidly research, learn, and test new technologies and to make decisions about their suitability for a given problem within the context of a larger system.
  • The ability to lead the development of a larger project, both in terms of guiding its direction and in terms of the development work.
  • A drive to grow and continually improve.
  • An understanding that the workload can fluctuate over time and there may be periods when longer hours are unavoidable.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Python.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Git.
  • Experience with using Gitlab and its CI/CD framework is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
