We are looking for a talented business development manager with technical background to join our Hub Europe Power Grids Grid Automation business development team at Hitachi Energy. In this role, you will analyze new market opportunities for our Automation and Communication solution portfolio and develop new business growth and strategic initiatives towards potential partners and clients within assigned markets while closely working with internal stakeholders and colleagues across different countries.

Your responsibilities

  • You understand market dynamics and customers mid- and long-term requirements
  • You are willing to travel more than 30% per year within Hub Europe area for customer visits, exhibitions and assist the sales team in their sales effort
  • You conduct research to identify new markets, opportunities, and channels to market
  • You define and implement business strategy proactively challenging the status quo and offering alternative scenarios
  • You create development plans on growth targets and growth projections
  • You provide support and expertise to assist our Global Product Group and Operating Group Automation and Communication in maximizing our growth potential
  • You have close cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and colleagues across different countries

Your background

  • You have a master's degree or bachelor's and higher in any relevant field
  • You have more than 10 years business development and sales experience in an B2B international environment
  • You have proven experience in advising and leading different stakeholders
  • You bring automation and communication knowledge and experience within utilities or other segments such as transportation, industry, and renewables
  • You have an active, energetic, and open approach
  • You have excellent communication, presentatio and interpersonal skills and the ability to learn
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to make strategic recommendations
  • You speak fluent English and German, any other language is an advantage
