What you'll do

As an Avaloq Performance Engineer, you'll be performing system performance analysis (Avaloq, Oracle database), and identifying performance improvement opportunities and implementing them. Together with your team, you'll own the system performance of the core banking system.

You'll play an important role in keeping the Oracle database stable and performant which might include being involved in projects to support the design of a performant and lean Database as well as maintenance and sustainability tasks.

You'll also be:

  • Analysing, identifying and performance optimizing Avaloq as core banking system on Oracle level
  • Analysing database, migration scripting and structuring the 3rd level Support
  • Monitoring the technical progress against plans while safeguarding functionality, scalability and performance, and providing progress updates to stakeholders
  • Improving the system performance by influencing the Avaloq in-house developer community
  • Collaborating with 3rd Party Providers/Suppliers (Swisscom, Avaloq, Oracle, IBM)
The skills you'll need

You'll come with a background in software engineering, Oracle database design and architecture, as well as demonstrable experience with Avaloq and Oracle.

Along with development experience in Oracle or Avaloq Script, or more programming languages, you'll bring an excellent understanding of implementing programming best practice, especially around scalability, availability and performance.

You'll also need:

  • A detailed understanding of Avaloq core platform and technical concepts (database, object model, PL-SQL)
  • Knowledge as Oracle DBA or Senior Engineer
  • Experience of supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by teams other than your own
