As the Head of Legal Engineering, you will report into our CEO and play a pivotal role in driving our vision forward.

We are seeking someone who not only has a deep understanding of contract law and the intricacies of contract reviewing but also possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.

You will have the opportunity to shape the future of our SaaS solution, leveraging your expertise to build innovative solutions and services that redefine the way legal professionals approach their work.

Your Tasks
You will be leading an the Legal Engineering team.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Design automatable commercial contract concepts and language in various ways, including prompting and the creation of prompt libraries.
  • Oversee the evaluation and improvement of the Legartis AI solution and datasets, analyze the AI results and provide legal feedback for further developments.
  • Interact with customers to translate their requirements and to determine how their legal review tasks can be turned into an automated review process.
  • Plan and manage various projects and codevelopments with customers.
  • Setup and further develop our professional services to make sure our clients make the most out of the Legartis solution.
  • Lead a team of legal professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and guiding their efforts in driving our product, ensuring efficiency, and continuous growth.

Your Profile

  • You hold a Master's degree in Law or equivalent (any additional education or the admission to the bar is a plus);
  • You have profound postqualification experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (e.g. NDAs, Service Agreements, Construction Agreements, Software License Agreements);
  • You have proven experience in advising clients in the review of contracts, and you are able to build strong client relationships;
  • You have excellent (legal) communication and writing skills in German and English (any further language such as French, Spanish or Portuguese is a plus) and enjoy analysing language and have a good feel for linguistic nuances;
  • You are interested in current business trends involving AI, machine learning and prompting, especially generative AI solutions such as ChatGPT; experience with prompting is a big plus;
  • You have experience in planning, managing and executing projects independently and are able to manage multiple priorities/projects in a fastpaced environment;
  • You have a track record of successful leadership and enjoy motivating others;
  • You have an innovative and proactive mindset, capable of identifying opportunities, solving challenges creatively, and challenging the status quo;
  • You demonstrate ownership, accountability and willingness to drive projects forward and embrace change;
  • You are able to improvise and make judgements quickly and based on little information;
  • You are a motivated, flexible individual who values teamwork, complemented by a responsible and organized personality.
