Your responsibilities

Join the Beams (BE) Department as a Survey Technician. You'll be part of the High Precision Alignment technologies team in the Geodetic and Metrology group.

What you'll do:

  • Get training on cutting-edge survey technologies like laser Tracker and micrometric sensors;
  • Align accelerator components using laser trackers;
  • Conduct acceptance tests and calibrate alignment sensors.

Your profile

Requirements:

  • Strong grasp of high-precision survey methods and tools: total station or laser tracker;
  • Excellent teamwork and adaptability skills;
  • Proficiency in English, with French skills being a plus.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You must be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • Applicants should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Survey technician or a related field and hold a general secondary education diploma.
  • No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree are ineligible.

Duration: 24 months, extendable up to 36 months max.

This role involves:

  • Work in underground installations.
  • Availability for night shifts, Sundays, and holidays as required by the Organization.
