To provide support to medical team focussing on the delivery of medical plans and ensuring medical launch excellence in partnership with cross-functional country and international/global teams.

The post-holder will work closely with the country medical teams to ensure activities are executed compliantly and according to local guidelines.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works in close collaboration with the Medical Affairs team in Switzerland, Austria and Distributor Markets (CEER, MENA, LATAM) and contributes to the timely implementation of the Country/Region Medical plan.
  • Key activities include support of the planning and process aspects of Vertex sponsored medical education events, advisory boards, launch excellence, medical reporting, regional internal medical meetings, management of review and approval of medical materials in Vertex systems and with the local medical team support the development of slides for business presentations.
  • The Medical Coordinator has responsibility for tracking and managing all aspects of activities within their remit, as defined by roles and responsibilities in collaboration with the Regional/Country Medical Director.
  • The postholder will be expected to build and manage collaborative relationships with internal cross functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Timely and appropriate external communications with HCPs/HCOs in a professional and responsible manner as per business needs
  • Safeguarding of Medical Affairs and empowered to ensure compliance and maintain appropriate medical, commercial interactions both internally and externally whilst adhering to applicable legislation, in particular
:

copyright, privacy/GDPR, Code of Conduct and reporting payments to HCPs (Global Spend Transparency).

  • Responsible for oversight of HCP contracts for Medical Affairs activities, including FMV, Contract Request Form (CRF) creation, HCP communications, and post meeting reporting
  • Confident managing external agencies to ensure their timely delivery of work against agreed timelines and set budgets
  • Identification and highlight any constraints and threats that may impact the ability of outstanding work to deliver to time
  • With the Regional/Country Medical Director, manage proposed changes to parameters e.g. scope, budget, schedules
  • Organise and conduct meetings as needed according to scope of work and ensure postmeeting follow up on actions to ensure completion
  • Able to identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintain and share information on HCP engagements as appropriate
  • Ability for international travel as required
  • Responsible for travel booking and expense reporting for Country Medical Directors in an efficient and effective manner
  • Cover reception and answer phone calls
  • Independently manage office/facility related matters, including availability of materials/stationary
  • Provide onboarding support to new colleagues regarding Vertex internal processes
  • Responsible to provide administrative support for Sponsorships and Grants for the country/region
  • Support medical team with IT issues, devices and escalate through Vertex systems as necessary
  • Act as backup to the Assistant of Country Manager
  • Support Country Manager Switzerland in his/her role as VITH (Verordnung über die Integrität und Transparenz im Heilmittelbereich) responsible person and forwards corresponding requests from Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) to him/her.

EDUCATION:

BSc or MSc (or equivalents) and proven medical/scientific work experience

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Fluent in English and German, and ideally knowledge of French
  • Experience of delivering projects to time
  • Experience with region/country cultural specifics
  • Ideally experience of working on pharmaceutical industry and regulatory environments
  • Ideally experience of working with crossfunctional teams
  • Ability to professionally communicate with HCPs/HCOs, verbal and written
  • Welldeveloped planning and organisational skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highlevel of IT literacy, proficient user of Microsoft Office tools
  • Proven capability to manage projects and stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver resolutions of highly complex or unusual business problems
