Your role

  • To be an inspirational and passionate global Crew Leader who drives the longterm commercial success of UBS products / the operational success and continuous improvement of how we deliver services in alignment with our purpose, client promise and strategic imperatives. Provide technical SME skills in specified areas (Mainframe & Midrange-AS400, AIX, Stratus, including development RPG experience).
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • accountable for the overall quality of the crew's products / service levels, satisfaction of clients and internal consumers, commercial and non-commercial outcomes and operational health
- formulates the crew's long-term Mainframe & Midrange (AS400, AIX, Stratus) Operations vision, mission, strategy and quarterly objectives and key results as well as representing the crew in the quarterly business review
- ensures the appropriate distribution of effort across Mainframe & Midrange feature development, technical improvements, risk remediation and fixing issues
- organizes and aligns the global Service Operations pods and chapters within the crew, making sure that the agile roles are fulfilled and growing the skills of pod members

Additional responsibilities of the Crew Product Lead of the Mainframe & Midrange Operations area / Service Lead:

  • leads the management of the family of Mainframe & Midrange products throughout their lifecycle, from early ideas and prototypes to production rollout, incremental improvements and eventual retirement; manages a group of pods being responsible for the operational outcomes and performance against SLAs and KPIs
- can line manage Reliability managers; partners closely with peer crew product leads, aligned businesses and control functions; collaborates across streams and divisions and global locations
- ensures pods' transparency on the "service book of work", performance management, capacity management and supports pods with the removal of obstacles
- understands and can handle the cultural complexities of running a global Service Operations / Reliability crew

  • Key Deliverables:
  • service Mainframe & Midrange Operations' vision, strategy and roadmap. Including objectives and key results, Service Levels and operational KPIs reported via quarterly business reviews
- manage frequent product increments and experiments / improvement of service provision / ways of working based on agile or lean methodologies with valuable outcomes and learnings
- rollout of and technical Mainframe and Midrange products and features
- build and sustain a high-performing global team focused on product / service impact
- supports the team with technical knowledge on Mainframe & Midrange (AS400, AIX, Stratus (including development RPG experience))

Specifics:
- this role requires a combination of Mainframe & Midrange product / service management expertise and relevant technical / business knowledge together with leadership, people management, client facing and financial management skills

- strong product leadership skills as well as several years of experience with a significant budget responsibility
- certain development languages in the Mainframe & Midrange area (such as RPG), are essential
