Head Regulatory

As Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for BTCS, you'll oversee our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) efforts, ensuring our compliance framework effectively identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks. You'll develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, following Swiss and international standards. Your duties include preparing clarifications, conducting complex investigations, managing compliance and reputational risks, submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and running staff training on compliance matters. Additionally, you'll support audit efforts and liaise with regulatory authorities to timely respond to their queries.

You will have the following responsibilities
  • Serving as the MLRO, playing a critical role in our organization's efforts to combat money laundering
  • Being responsible for establishment and implementation of comprehensive AML and FCC Frameworks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and mitigating financial crime risks effectively
  • Managing the submission of SARs to the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS), guaranteeing timely and precise reporting through the GoAML platform
  • Acting as the primary contact for law enforcement inquiries, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to requests for information, thereby upholding the company's reputation for cooperation and compliance
  • Monitoring regulatory changes that impact the business and adapt policies and procedures accordingly
  • Coordinating with product owners to evaluate regulatory requirements for new initiatives
  • Overseeing and driving regulatory projects, including identification and implementation of applicable local or international requirements, standards, and best practice
  • Designing and delivering comprehensive training programs for employees
  • Overseeing regular AML- and other relevant audits
What you bring along
  • Master's degree in Law, Business, Accounting and/or Economics
  • At least 7 years of Compliance experience in a Swiss financial institution
  • Solid understanding of Swiss AML regulation and due diligence obligations (CDB20, AMLA, AMLO-FINMA, VQF-R)
  • Previous experience in using the go-AML tool for submitting suspicious activity reports to the MROS
  • Fundamental interest in crypto/blockchain is a must
  • Able to work under pressure, independently and remotely, if needed
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Exact and diligent work style
  • You enjoy working interdisciplinary with experts from various fields
  • Fluent in English and German, any other language is a plus
