The designs developed by Panerai in that time, including the Luminor and Radiomir, were covered by the Military Secrets Act for many years and were launched on the international market only after the brand was acquired by the Richemont Group in 1997.
Today Panerai develops and crafts its movements and watches at its Neuchâtel manufacture. The latter are a seamless melding of Italian design flair and history with Swiss horological expertise. Panerai watches are sold across the world through an exclusive network of distributors and Panerai boutiques.

Founded in 1860 in Florence as a workshop, shop and subsequently school of watch-making, Panerai is renowned for producing high-precision instruments for the Italian Navy with a pulse on innovation and function.

Protected by military secrets, these creations were only launched in the International market when the brand was acquired by Richemont Group in 1997.


Today, the Maison advances through cutting-edge research, sustainability, and empowering modern heroes with a team that passionately brings value to Panerai's distinctive mix of Italian spirit and Swiss watchmaking excellence.

Sustainability Manager

Your mission

How will you make an impact:
This position's day to day activity will cover the following topics:

People

  • In partnership with the HR department, participate in building the CSR people strategy and implementing the CSR related projects.
  • Coordinate all Volunteering, Diversity & Inclusion as well as Sustainability related educational programs.
  • Use internal communication to reinforce the company social responsibility policies and increase awareness among the Panerai community.

Project

  • Assist the company in developing, managing and altering social responsibility policies.
  • Work closely with innovative suppliers in order to provide new materials able to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Identify new responsible practices and processes able to reduce the footprint of logistic and supply chain.

Process

  • Further develop and manage the brand sustainability strategy as well as provide through leadership for the company's longterm corporate responsibility strategy plan.
  • Manage corporate responsibility KPIs for the Top Management members and the Panerai community.
  • Manage corporate responsibility reporting as well as lead completion of any Group internal audits or external certifications.

Partnership

  • Help develop and foster a favorable relationship with the surrounding community: reach out to the target audience via PR and marketing to deliver the message of Panerai's commitment to social responsibility.
  • Coordinate participation in community and charitable activities, philanthropy projects and organizations.
  • Lead and/or coordinate corporate responsibility related events.

Performance in real estate

  • Further implement the climate strategy of the brand to minimize its ecological footprint.
  • Work closely with the store planning department to minimize the impact of the stores and obtain the LEED certification for the new boutiques.
  • Collaborate with the Group towards the completion of the Group Sustainability report in any new implementations.
