MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

You will support and encourage students, helping them enjoy and make the most of the learning opportunities the school offers.

You will be teaching Chemistry to High School students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote the school's mission and vision by assisting students, both day and boarding, to discover and develop individual strengths, make powerful, lifelong global connections, and be their best selves.
• Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student's health and wellbeing are given the necessary priority.
• Embody and promote Collège du Léman's RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence
• Use and develop the existing resources to teach Chemistry in the Anglophone High School.
• Teach Chemistry in the High School, possibly including IGCSE, IB, EALand High School classes.
• Possibility of Extended Essay supervision in Chemistry within the IBDP programme.
• Possibility to act as a Pastoral Advisor.
• The ability to teach another Science and PSHE is an advantage.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
You should possess a relevant university degree in Chemistry and a teaching qualification.

It is imperative that you have previous experience in teaching Chemistry in English, as well as a strong command of the language.

Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to use and integrate educational technology effectively into the curriculum, enhancing the learning experience for students.

• Furthermore, you are expected to work closely with a team of dedicated colleagues and maintain a positive rapport with students, characterized by a firm yet empathetic and fair approach.

Preferred qualifications for this position include previous experience in an international school setting as well as teaching IB and IGCSE Chemistry.

CONDITIONS
The position needs to be filled by August 2024. This is a full-time position.

• It is important that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and observes a professional distance from students whilst still developing effective working and caring relationships.
