About Senior Embedded Software Engineer:

Join our passionate team of engineers as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, where you will play a key role in designing and implementing the embedded software for our Dexter surgical robotics platform. Your responsibilities will include defining the software architecture, developing embedded software, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards for Medical Devices.

Tasks:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the embedded software of Dexter robot in collaboration with the Software Verification & Validation and Hardware development teams.
  • Create software requirements, architecture, and design specification documents.
  • Maintain existing embedded software in C.
  • Contribute to defining the software architecture of the new embedded software platform using C/C++.
  • Participate in software risk management activities.
  • Utilize tools and methodologies to create functional and interface representations.
  • Engage in software design reviews, code reviews, and risk analysis.
  • Troubleshoot anomalies by conducting root cause analysis.
  • Take a proactive approach and collaborate on common challenges.
  • Ensure software and documentation compliance with quality processes and medical device standards.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in embedded software development.
  • A degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems, ideally QNX and Safe-RTOS.
  • Hands-on experience with real-time applications, low-level embedded software architecture & design, digital signal processing, driver implementation, and communication systems.
  • Familiarity with modelling embedded software architecture using UML/SysML or similar tools.
  • Experience in static test analysis and unit testing methods.
  • Team player with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to track and document work effectively.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with the CANopen communication protocol.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, French and German are a plus.
