Your Responsibilities

Come and be part of the Engineering Department's Asset and Maintenance Management section as a Full-Stack Software Developer. Join a dynamic team of software professionals where agile software development, asset management, DevOps, and machine learning converge.

Lead the design and implementation of advanced web applications to optimize asset and maintenance management processes for over 4000 users. These critical applications are based on the Organization's Enterprise Asset Management platform, HxGN EAM, with components also being shared as open-source.

Your work will directly impact the daily tasks of engineers and technicians overseeing CERN's particle accelerator complex and technical infrastructure. Using technologies like JavaScript (React), the HTML5 stack, Java, OIDC, and our proprietary cloud services, you will help shape our digital engineering platform's architecture.

Apart from coding, you will take on roles such as Scrum Master, mentor junior team members, conduct code reviews, engage in pair coding sessions, and access various training programs to advance your professional growth. This position presents a unique mix of technical challenges and the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects at CERN.

Your Profile

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in professional software development with back-end and front-end technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, HTML5, React
  • Experience in developing JavaScript single web page applications with React or similar frameworks
  • Understanding of the interaction between HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to build and modify page elements dynamically
  • Hands-on experience in continuous integration and automated testing
  • Proficiency in using collaborative code repositories within a team (e.g., git, GitLab, GitHub)
  • Fluency in English

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You are a national of a certain country
  • You have a professional background in Software Engineering or a related field, with either a Master's degree and 2 to 6 years of post-graduation experience or a PhD and no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience
  • You have not previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract
