Your responsibilities

If you are a proactive Full Stack Software Engineer who loves developing sophisticated information systems from start to finish, comfortable with server-side technologies and proficient in writing frontends in JavaScript, not to mention unafraid to optimize database queries, delve into data integration, or troubleshoot messaging systems, then you're a perfect fit for our team of skilled engineers. Join us in crafting application software for CERN's Corporate Information Systems. Be part of the group in charge of delivering information systems for various business functions at CERN. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Business Computing group, you will:

  • Work in an agile team to design, implement, and support software solutions used throughout CERN;
  • Test and implement solutions, provide support to end users, and engage in knowledge-sharing activities with your team;
  • Focus on enhancing team processes to meet the agreed objectives and service level agreements.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Experience in designing and developing full stack enterprise solutions based on industry standards like Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, React, and similar tools;
  • Familiarity with modern software design principles, architecture patterns, and their applications in Java and JavaScript ecosystems;
  • Proficiency in working with SQL, databases, and integrating them with Java applications;
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

Language skills

  • Proficiency in English, ability to work in French is a plus.

Eligibility criteria

  • You have a maximum of two years of professional experience in Computer Science since graduation with a Bachelor's or a Master's degree;
  • You have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract before, and not having a University degree makes you ineligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension of up to 36 months.
