Responsibility

Support the implementation of the EH&S program (Environment, Health, and Safety) for Otis Switzerland in collaboration with the operational teams in the German-speaking region.

Responsibilities

Implementation of the EH&S Policy

  • Conducting safety awareness campaigns.
  • Identify best practices to be shared by all operations in the country.
  • Facilitate training and communication for Otis employees and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement suitable monitoring and measurement criteria to facilitate and evaluate the effectiveness of existing policies and programs.

Supporting Operations

  • Analyze the results of the FPA and quality audits conducted by the official auditor to create an action plan.
  • Support operations to ensure that all legal requirements regarding environmental, health, and workplace safety are known, understood, and properly implemented in operations.
  • Provide advice to operations on issues related to health and workplace safety programs and systems.
  • Participate in the annual assessment of the EH&S program for operations to ensure that an acceptable score is achieved.

Tracking Accidents and Prevented Incidents

  • Support operations in investigating accidents and near misses to ensure that effective corrective actions are taken to avoid recurrences.
  • Determine the root causes of accidents and develop corrective action plans.
  • Ensure that data is available on time for all OTIS and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies (ethics, internal controls, and safety), as well as all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, standards, and principles.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Professional degree, HF technician, or equivalent.
  • Safety officer, safety engineer (EKAS), or STPS specialist.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EH&S department, ideally in the construction or service industry, experience with elevators is advantageous.
  • Native German speaker; and fluent in English.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel.
