Position Summary

The Nestlé System Technology Centre (NSTC) in Orbe is a leading R&D center for the design, development, and deployment of Nestlé delivery systems, offering expertise in machines, packaging, and products for in-home and out-of-home settings. As an R&D Process Performance Improvement Specialist at Suppliers focusing on paper-based packaging for systems, you will assist Project Managers in evaluating the stability and capability of manufacturing processes at capsule suppliers. You will play a key role in driving cultural change within the Capsule & Packaging team, promoting data-driven decisions.

A Day in the Life of an R&D Process Performance Improvement Specialist at Suppliers

  • Propose innovative methods for data management and analysis.
  • Support Packaging Project Managers in implementing Design of Experiments, Process and Design FMEA, and defining sampling plans for tests both internally and externally.
  • Assist in defining validation plans, optimizing process performances, conducting Root Cause Analysis, and implementing process improvement protocols.
  • Communicate results and methodologies effectively to stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Offer timely and accurate support to suppliers, delivering sustainable solutions.
  • Leverage internal and external networks to ensure project success and promote knowledge sharing.

What will make you successful

  • Degree/background in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process enhancement with a focus on data management and analysis.
  • Expertise in manufacturing processes, particularly in packaging or automotive industry processes.
  • Previous supplier management experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing proficiency.
  • Minimum Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred) and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in R&D environments.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and coach peers.
  • Background in paper manufacturing, including wet pulp moulding and lamination, is a valuable asset.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of French is advantageous.
