Our Nestlé Research & Development Unit in Orbe, Switzerland, develops for Nestlé worldwide new products, processes and packaging concepts for Infant Nutrition. In addition, it also provides technical assistance and engineering support for major Capital Investment Projects to our factories.

As a Recipe Management and Technical Acceptance Specialist for Cereals Solutions and Healthy Snacks within our NDU Nutrition based in Orbe, you support the implementation strategy of the Corporate and Business initiatives or policies related to recipes and technical acceptance for products of our Nutrition Business. As such, you contribute to build competence in R&D and Operations on category specific recipe and technical acceptance processes and tools. You are responsible for ensuring adherence to recipe and technical acceptance processes according to applicable standards to support new product development compliant with internal and external requirements and on time. You provide deep knowledge on recipes, guidelines, and corresponding management tools to support new product formulation and technical assistance to our factories. You lead the overall technical acceptance process for the category.

A Day in the Life of a Material Recipe Management Specialist in Nutrition

  • Support and guide the formulation of new products according to Material & Recipe Management processes
  • Provide guidance on/manage issuance of the recipe validation reports
  • Review and approve the Raw Material Specifications of ingredients critical to formulations when relevant
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams and provide recommendations to overcome ingredients and product related challenges
  • Identify opportunities and drive improvement of Material & Recipe Management processes and tools (SAP-RM, CAT and DevEX) to support compliance by design, efficiency and data quality
  • Approve recipes according to portfolio in scope
  • Train users on category specific Material & Recipe Management processes and tools
  • Provide guidance on the technical acceptance plan, review and approve technical acceptance submissions

What will make you successful

  • Degree level related to scientific field (Food Technology; Engineering; Manufacturing; Microbiology...)
  • At least 5 years of experience in Innovation or Operations in R&D or in a factory/market, specifically on management of ingredients, recipes, finished products, compliance or label data management, experience in quality is a plus
  • Sound statistical knowledge & ability to analyze and summarize data and make recommendations
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance & with awareness of relevant food regulations
  • Experience in using software systems/applications
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in English (spoken & written), other languages are a plus
