The chosen candidate will be accountable for delivering investment solutions to UNHW clients and prospects of HSBC Private Bank in their respective region. The primary objectives include:

  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers to offer suitable investment solutions to clients
  • Building and strengthening client relationships and profitability

Responsibilities entail assessing client investment needs, formulating an extensive investment strategy, managing sales and execution accordingly, and overseeing the performance and suitability of the client's investment portfolio. Working alongside Investment Counsellor Assistants who handle the administrative aspects of Advisory activities.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with Relationship Managers to develop investment strategies with clients
  • Evaluate client investment requirements, experience, expectations, and risk tolerance
  • Create tailored investment strategies and asset allocation proposals for each client
  • Implement the defined investment strategy using suitable products and services, liaise with Product specialists, Portfolio managers, and other HSBC entities as needed to craft optimal solutions
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on market trends and portfolio developments, as well as the Bank's investment insights. Regularly review investment strategies and propose adjustments based on client risk appetite, needs, and market conditions
  • Supervise client portfolios for performance, suitability, and opportunities, engage with clients proactively regarding any deviations in their portfolios. Conduct annual account reviews punctually
  • Offer insights on investment opportunities to clients and prospects
  • Contribute to the development of new business initiatives and product enhancements. Advocate for mandates to enhance mandate penetration and boost client share of wallet
  • Monitor investment revenues and client profitability
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations and procedures
  • Participate in and provide input for any Bank initiatives when required (e.g., offer definition, new IT systems related to investment activities)

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record in investment advisory; experience in portfolio management, brokerage, or institutional sales is beneficial
  • Extensive knowledge of private banking business (onshore and offshore) and the competitive and regulatory landscape
  • Client-centric attitude, with strong sales, analytical, technical, teamwork, and relationship building skills
  • Strong negotiation, complex problem-solving, communication, and presentation abilities (written and verbal)
  • Sound judgement, urgency, and high levels of professional and personal integrity
  • A CFA qualification would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English
  • Solid experience working with UHNW clients, preferably in the Qatar market
  • Due to immigration restrictions in Switzerland, we can only consider applications from Swiss or EU citizens or candidates with a valid Swiss work permit
