Junior Career Guidance Counsellor 60%

Key accountabilities:

  • Create and update materials, including presentations and communications, for the guidance programme
  • Assist in coordinating and promoting events (information sessions, university and career fairs, university visits, parent presentations) both on and offcampus to facilitate students' exploration of highereducation and career options
  • Ensure accurate and timely transmission of academic references and records, including transcripts, records from past schools, teacher recommendations and predicted grades
  • Provide students with coaching on CVs and interviews for university admissions and internship opportunities
  • Assist in coordinating student internship and externship opportunities
  • Stay abreast of reforms and updates to admissions practices and procedures in Switzerland and internationally

Your profile:

  • Fluent French and English (German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch or Russian a plus)
  • Understanding of Champittet's secondary school programmes (IB Programme, French Baccalaureate, Swiss Maturity) and knowledge of Swiss, UK, European and North American university admission procedures, systems (especially UCAS, Common App) and requirements
  • Experienced in student personal development and selfawareness coaching; teaching experience would be advantageous
  • Knowledgeable about university admissions practices, interview training and essay/personal statement advice and guidance
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Champittet's academic, pastoral and administrative teams, and to cultivate positive working relationships with university admission officers and peers in the field of guidance counselling.
  • Strong interpersonal and ICT skills and excellent attention to detail
