Global Category Specialist for Cleanroom and EI&C (w/m/d) - GMP / cold room / management /SAP/ English,German, French

For an exciting opportunity at a major pharmaceutical company in Visp, we are seeking a skilled Global Category Specialist focusing on Cleanroom and EI&C.
Background:
As the Clean Room Solutions and EI&C Global Category Specialist, you'll oversee procurement activities in investment projects and collaborate with Capex Lead buyers to plan and execute projects at the Visp site and other locations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and update the Category Strategy
- Manage demand, supply, and capacity with key suppliers and stakeholders for EI&C Equipment and Materials, EI&C Installation Works, Clean Room Solutions
- Build Supplier Relationships with key partners
- Stay informed on technological and regulatory trends in the market
- Monitor markets and internal stakeholders to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks
- Provide regular reports on market intelligence for lead times and prices
- Create procurement execution strategies for categories and projects
- Lead or support Procurement of EI&C Equipment and Materials, EI&C Installation Works, Clean Room Solutions as needed
- Manage strategic and operational procurement tasks, including defining and implementing procurement strategies, maintaining framework agreements, and optimizing costs
- Coordinate, lead or participate in projects to enhance technical purchasing efficiency and achieve common goals
- Contribute as a member of the Global Category Team for Construction, Fit-out, and Automation
- Take charge of large and complex RFQ packages end to end
- Ensure weekly updates of packages in Procurement Management Plan (PMP)
- Support medium & simple RFQ packages and provide category-specific benchmarks and cost breakdowns to the team
Must Haves:
- Technical or Commercial training (Uni or FH) in fields like Process engineering, chemical engineering, business management, project management, supply chain, electrical, or Computer Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pharma or biotech industry or similar sterile environments
- At least 2 years of experience in tendering complex E&IC, clean room or cold room packages in GMP environments
- 7 years of experience in plant construction, purchasing, sales, contract management, and project management related to Clean Room Solutions and EI&C
- At least 2 years' experience in category management with demonstrated strategy implementation
- Deep knowledge of regional and local markets for relevant categories
- Problem-solving skills, effective communication, and negotiation abilities
- Proficiency in English, with French skills as a bonus
- Strong project and procurement management skills
- Collaborative team player with matrix organization experience
- Proficient in PC skills: MS Office, SAP
- Business-oriented mindset with analytical thinking
- Initiative, resilience, and ability to work well under pressure
Nice to Haves:
- Proficiency in German
- Previous experience working in the Swiss Pharma or Capex industry
- Involvement in capex projects from early engineering to MC or OQ/PQ stages
- Experience with claims and agile project management methods
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills
- Advanced degree in supply chain, business management, trade, or economics
- Procurement or supply chain Certifications (e.g. CIPS)
