Volunteering role:
- This is a volunteer position
- Time commitment: 5 - 9 hours per week
- Location: remote work
Purpose
We are developing a platform that promotes diverse content related to Diversity & Inclusion, particularly within the tech sector. The Research & Writer Volunteer, who is passionate about both diversity and technology, will conduct research on studies, articles, and other relevant information to create engaging blog articles aligning with women++'s strategy.
As a part of the women++ team, your contributions and growth are fundamental. Get to know the entire team and engage in discussions on various diversity & inclusion topics.
TasksWhat you will be responsible for:
You will be conducting research and crafting blog articles for our new blog focusing on diversity & inclusion within the Swiss context.
How your role evolves over six months of volunteering:
Within three months:
- Meet with other research/writers, content editor, and strategy team for alignment and onboarding to the new women++ blog strategy and content plan.
- Research diversity & inclusion topics within the Swiss sector to create informative articles for our audience.
- Collaborate closely with women++'s content editor to refine your articles post-proofreading and feedback.
- Conduct keyword research and apply SEO strategies to enhance content visibility.
- Finalize a minimum of 2 articles per month for scheduling on our blog calendar, following the blog's strategy.
Within six months:
- Complete your introductory phase and be introduced to the women++ community as a team member.
- Present new and enhanced outreach ideas.
Above all: We believe in maximizing potential through training, learning, and attitude. Therefore, even if you feel you lack relevant experience but have an interest in social media marketing, you might be the ideal fit for this position. In general, we seek individuals with:
- Ability to research and analyze: Capable of researching and critically assessing information related to diversity and technology, and applying it within the Swiss context.
- Storytelling skills: Proficient in transforming research into engaging articles, snippets, guidelines, etc.
- Passion for diversity & inclusion and tech-related subjects.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English. Knowledge of German is a bonus.
- Ownership mindset, proactiveness, reliability.
- Receive dedicated guidance: Throughout onboarding and your volunteering period, you will receive training on women++ marketing best practices and have a dedicated mentor for brainstorming and reflection.
- Ownership, responsibility, and proactiveness: At women++, we aim to foster leadership. 'Research & Writing (Diversity in technology)' will be your domain, and post-initial onboarding, you will have autonomy in creating blog articles with feedback included.
- Expand your professional network: Interested in tech? Alongside joining a group of professionals within the women++ team, you will engage with industry leaders, academic researchers, and tech professionals within the women++ network. As your role progresses, you will broaden your network through our partnerships and community connections.
- Personal development: Apply and enhance your research and writing skills, and broaden your knowledge on diversity & inclusion and tech-related themes.
- Enhance your CV with practical volunteer experience, adding valuable skills to your resume.
- Create an impact: Your contributions will directly support a meaningful cause.
