INTRODUCTION OF THE PROGRAMME
The Liminality Consortium comprises academic institutions, civil society, grassroots organizations, international bodies, UN agencies, and other humanitarian actors, specialising in gender-responsive research in forced migration with a focus and interest in public health, particularly sexual and reproductive health.
Committed to an intersectional feminist approach, through our research findings, we aspire to influence policy and practice, fuel activism, promote gender equality and health equity, and contribute to the pursuit of social justice.
Our collaborative research aims to uncover the structural challenges faced by forcibly displaced individuals and generate nuanced insights into the gendered experiences, working across Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, and Switzerland.
Dr Heidari, Senior Researcher at Gender Centre, the Geneva Graduate Institute, is the Principal Investigator and coordinates the consortium and the research projects.
The Junior Project Assistant will be working closely with her in supporting the consortium in managing the administrative duties related to the project and the management and coordination of the consortium and related activities.
The Junior Project Assistant will have regularcommunication and report to Dr Shirin Heidari, work closely with other team members and liaise with other research partners and advisory group members.
Keys responsabilities:
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones are met.
- Assist in projectrelated administrative tasks to ensure the smooth progress and completion of the research project, including scheduling events and meetings, taking meeting minutes, managing project files, supporting the drafting of country reports and policy briefs, and coordinating policy dialogues.
- Maintain and update the project website with relevant publications, events, and news, and ensure the smooth functioning of website operations.
- Manage data centralization, including tracking, naming convention, and consistency, and ensure proper storage and encryption of all researchrelated documentation.
- Coordinate with the Principal Investigator to ensure compliance with IRB regulations and grant policies and procedures, assist in the development of training materials, and maintain documentation of training.
- Collaborate with the PI and institution to respond to audit findings and implement approved recommendations.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Master's degree in a relevant field: International Development, Migration, Gender, Public Health, or a related field.
- Selfdriven and reliable, with excellent task
- management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate initiative, proactiveness, and the ability to contribute ideas for improving project efficiency, with a proactive approach to problemsolving and the ability to handle unexpected challenges.
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to details and a high level of accuracy.
- Efficient time management skills to balance multiple tasks effectively and ensure timely delivery of activities and deliverables.
- Excellent written and verbal professional communication skills in English. Knowledge of other languages (French and/or German) highly desirable.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external to the consortium.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic research environment.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with diverse communities, including an understanding of genderrelated issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organise data securely. Knowledge and familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis is an advantage.
- Understanding of feminist values and principles in research.
- Passionate to support research and advocacy efforts for gender and social justice.
- Previous experience working with queer and displaced communities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with website operations and content management is highly desirable.
- Experience in effective and successful organisation of events and research meetings.
- Experience in planning and coordinating events, workshops, or conferences related to research projects.
- Demonstrate familiarity and respectful engagement with queer communities and displaced population.
