Staff Interaction Designer, User Experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers throughout the design process.
  • Experience designing for consumer products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a complex, crossfunctional organization.
  • Experience leading design projects.
  • Ability to maintain confidence and professionalism when leading others through ambiguous and complex situations, influence and negotiate diplomatically and fairly with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution.

The Google Calendar and Tasks team creates assistive, innovative, and engaging experiences via mobile, desktop, voice, machine learning, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Influence stakeholders across functions to gain support for design strategies.
  • Drive the development of innovative design solutions to user, product, and business problems.
  • Drive design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that further business outcomes.
  • Provide direction to UX designers in creating design concepts for product ideation and/or user research/testing.
