Staff scientist expert in cryo-EM within the School of Life Sciences, EPFL Lausanne:

Your mission:

Join our dynamic team at the School of Life Sciences as we intensify our focus on structural biology. We are currently seeking a cryo-EM specialist with expertise in either single particle cryo-EM or cellular tomography.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Support users with negative stain and cryoEM sample preparation.
  • Support users with sample loading and highresolution cryoEM data acquisition.
  • Train PhDs and postdocs in operating transmission electron microscopes.
  • Help users with singleparticle data processing, analysis and model building.
  • Act as a driver to establish cryoET and insitu cryoEM at EPFL.

Your profile:

  • Ph.
D. in structural biology with specific training in cryo-EM.

  • Experience with the operation of highend TEMS, such as Krios and Glacios.
  • Experience with high resolution singleparticle structure determination and modelbuilding.
  • Knowledge of cryoET and subtomogram averaging would be an advantage.
  • Handson experience with the operation of cryoCLEM and cryoFIB would similariy be a plus.
  • Good IT skills, being team player and a serviceoriented attitude are essential.
