About the roleKey Responsibilities include**- Jointly with the commercial team, understand precisely the customer requirements: in terms of kind of certification (IP, segregation, traceable ) and mid-term plan volumes

  • Help the commercial teams to formulate a solution in an optimal way for Barry Callebaut, taking into account the industrial constraints like working capital, CAPEX requirements and OPEX.
  • Ensure that the chain of traceability is not broken in the transformation sites and logistics, as currently multiple systems are involved and not necessarily well connected together
  • Depending on the type of segregation requested by the customers, it may have an impact on the plant layout for physical segregation, material flows to ensure the segregation (plant "gate in" to delivery to the customer), ways to ship goods keeping segregation alive, the allocation of the portfolio in the factories. With this regard, an assessment of the needs (plant CAPEX, footprint reviewed) will have to be done
  • Review footprint if the traceability process is simplified
  • Assess the costs associated with traceability and segregation (loss of productivity, loss of yield, warehousing)
  • Build strong connections with other project streams (Sales, Sourcing, IM/IT) to ensure a full consistency in everything we do
  • Assess (and contribute to solutions on) current ways of working and how the digital journey can help us to secure our goal
    Key deliverables
  • ASIS: 360° review of past/current deals mapping of the existing segregated flows jointly with IM,
- identification of operational impact on current manufacturing / logistic setup,
- identification of cost and working capital variance drivers) but also
  • TOBE: implementation plan of the selected options from the sales team
  • Identified changes in planning, production & logistic processes
- list of necessary asset and system upgrades for implementation,
  • CAPEX plan deriving from upgrades,
- list of customers impacted by the potential change in footprint,
- list of enhanced digital solutions to ensure discipline in execution)
- list of deliverables and implementation plan for next phase
About you
  • Bachelor's / Master's in a technical discipline/ engineering or systems architecture
  • 10 years of experience in a similar role (systems and/or sustainability is a plus) in an international environment
  • Experience in project and change management, ideally combined with a project management certification
  • Engineering and prior systems background (cocoa highly desired but not mandatory)
  • Understanding of the end to end supply chain process
  • Knowledge of CI process & tools e.g. lean, 6 sigma
  • Strong knowledge of the product flow and systems to bring, in collaboration with operations and IM, innovative solutions/concepts/tools
  • Lean thinking to streamline the product flow (when needed)
  • Handson, 'rollup' the sleeves mentality, proactive in approach and able to cope with the ambiguity that building a new concept will bring
  • Not be daunted by the prospect of having to start with the basics and understand that the transformational change is as much about the technical solution as the mindset shift, especially when the footprint is at stake
  • Ability to operate in a changing environment, dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to work virtually and across cultures, and to influence colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Effective communicator and networker, able to facilitate coaching, training, coordination
  • Influencing skills at different levels in the organization
  • Fluent in English
