About Strategic Buyer

The purpose of this position is to effectively support site purchasing team and manage direct procurement activities with assigned suppliers, ensuring appropriate Distalmotion purchasing policies and procedures are applied at all times.

All activities are focused on bringing added value to the projects as well to achieve objectives related to quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness, that fully meet the company goals.

Tasks

• Coordinate and execute procurement processes from Request of Quotation to contract negotiation and full execution of Supply Agreements.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and implement them.
• Proactively securing components ahead of time for highly sensitive material.
• Conduct requests for quotation, evaluation, negotiation and related sourcing activities as directed in order to obtain first samples from defined suppliers.
• Manage day to day tasks in direct sourcing as backup of Purchasing Team (pricing and delivery issues, eradicating and/or escalating problems efficiently both internally and externally to minimize impact on our business).
• Proactively work cross functionally with relevant teams to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Federal Diploma in Purchasing.
• At least 5 years of solid working experience as Strategic Buyer in technical or medical environment.
• Familiarity and understanding of the regulatory and quality system requirement (e.g. ISO 13485 or AS9100).
• Advanced Excel skills, Power Point, Word and ERP systems
• Basic knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory control and planning systems
• Confirmed negotiations skills.
• Troubleshooting and problemsolving skills and able to analyze situations in depth with moderate level of complexity.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
• Fluent in English and French, German or Swiss German.
• Strong and transparent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
• Distalmotion is a medical device company founded and based in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was founded in 2012, as a spinoff from the Robotics Lab of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).Our objective is to remove the complexity out of robotic surgery in order to fast track its widespread adoption in mínimally invasive care.
