The facility in Visp, Switzerland is experiencing growth, with Bioconjugates playing a key role in driving this expansion. Lonza was among the pioneers in providing support for the commercialization of bioconjugate products and is currently focused on enhancing resource and facility capacity to meet the increasing demand for this technology in the market. Our teams are renowned for their dedication to delivering new conjugated therapies to patients and for their efforts to enhance collaboration as we embark on a new, significant chapter in our Business Unit.
As a result, we are currently seeking a (Senior) professional for our Bioconjugates Business Unit (Drug Substance manufacturing). In this position, you will serve as the primary link between Lonza and the customer, driving the implementation of customer scopes of work aimed at introducing innovative therapies to the market. You will act as an advisor throughout the entire life cycle and lead your program team in proposing the most suitable package to effectively balance quality, costs, and timelines based on customer needs and Lonza's capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the entire lifecycle of all projects, including tech transfer and GMP production, encompassing a large and complex portfolio from contract signing to delivery
- Lead a team of experts within a matrix organization and ensure successful delivery of contracted work in terms of quality, costs, and timelines
- Serve as the main point of contact for the customer, advocating for them within Lonza
- Facilitate communication within Lonza and between Lonza and the customer to proactively address risks and issues
- Ensure project timeline alignment within the customer program and coordinate scopes for assigned customers across business units
- Manage project scope and collaborate with the Proposals Team to prepare amendments and/or scope adjustments
- Contribute to mid-long term program strategies in collaboration with Sales and Commercial Development
- Coach and guide other team members
Key requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree with a technical background (chemistry, biology, biotechnology, or similar), PhD is a plus
- Previous experience in Project Management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or CMO industry
- Demonstrated understanding of technical, commercial, and organizational challenges influencing project strategy and planning
- Proven track record of successfully managing programs over multiple years in a relevant business setting
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems that lack routine solutions
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Fluent in English
