Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability #IP2TIS offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world. As a sustainability and innovation intern, you will work on cutting-edge projects that align with our commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and forward-thinking solutions.
You will be working in the Healthcare Consultant EMEA-LATAM - Healthcare Development team. We work with our hospital and commercial IVD lab customers, country affiliates and collaborate with global sustainability teams to push innovation in environmental sustainability at customer level. This will provide you with the experience of working in a cross-functional and international team where inclusion and diversity are highly valued.
The internship revolves around piloting a carbon footprint assessment (tool) for an existing reference customer operational lab setup. This pilot project aims to evaluate the feasibility and necessity of automating carbon footprint sustainability data reporting, aligning with future regions l and global requirements like the NHS National Health Service (United Kingdom National Health Service) Green Plan 2026 carbon footprint goal.
Collaborating with various stakeholders to gather product and consumption data. Utilizing activity-based and/or spend-based databases to evaluate the environmental impact of lab operations.Generating insights for future improvements and sharing findings across global and regional teams.
You will receive mentorship from the Roche Healthcare Consulting Champion, where you'll gain insights into product environmental footprint and carbon accounting - essential skills for a successful career in sustainability. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with Roche's team of experts, encompassing the tender management team, Consulting, Sustainability, and Customer Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) teams.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct pilots to assess the accuracy and feasibility of carbon footprint customer lab assessments and results.
Compile, analyze, and interpret available product environmental footprint data to identify improvement opportunities for automated calculation tools.
Foster knowledge exchange within the organization, contributing to sustainability strategies.
Who You Are
You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Analysis, or related fields within the last 12 months and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore you are
Proficient in data management and analysis, with an interest or experience in carbon accounting.
Innovative in approach, able to lead projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Independent, proactive, and capable of translating insights into actionable strategies.
Communication skills in English, with a passion for sustainability and driving change.
