The main objective of the Data Science Lab (DSL), www.dsl.unibe.ch, is the university-wide research support in Data Science and Research IT related matters. Facing an increasing demand for research IT support from many research groups, we are looking for a Research IT Specialist.

Tasks
  • Linux server and cluster administration
  • Webserver administration
  • Variety of frontend applications
  • Frontend development
  • Other tasks of interest like machine learning, consulting, data analysis and teaching
Requirements
  • Linux administration
  • Webserver administration (apache, nginx...)
  • Frontend development (HTML 5, CSS, Sass, ...)
  • Scripting and programming (Java, svelte, react, vue, python, ...)
  • Proficiency with process orchestration (docker, systemd, github actions, ...)
  • Cloud experience is an asset (openstack, AWS, google, ...)
  • Team worker, high availability in agreed periods
  • Goal and service-oriented personality with excellent English communication skills (German is a strong asset)
