ASAP: Finance Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Finance Operations Specialist to join our growing team in Zurich. Reporting directly to the CEO/CFO, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in setting up and overseeing the operations team. This role will initially involve interim support for the next 4-6 months, with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management or private equity.

Our client is a small asset management firm based in Zurich, Switzerland, with roots dating back to 2008 when it was established as a Single Family Office. Over the years, the firm has expanded its operations and brought in external capital, becoming FINMA regulated and managing discretionary portfolios for both the family and external clients. With a focus on integrity and excellence, our client is dedicated to delivering exceptional financial services.
Description
- Manage bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable, for the firm and its Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
- Verify and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of legal documentation related to investment activities.
- Conduct thorough data collection and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the CEO/CFO and other team members to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
- Support the setup and implementation of operational systems and procedures.
- Assist with audit preparations and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
- Handle ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in asset management or private equity, with a strong understanding of financial operations.
- Prior experience in audit, particularly within the private equity sector, is a plus.
- Proficiency in English is required, with knowledge of German considered advantageous.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of German is considered a plus.
