Senior Client Manager, Multilateral Development Banks (Hybrid 80-100%) - (m/f/x/d)

About the Role
 

You lead business development with Multilateral Development Bank (MDBs) clients, including their sovereign and nonsovereign operations. MDBs look to the (re)insurance industry to share and transfer unique risks in an effort to create resilience for their sovereign and nonsovereign clients, and mobilize private capital.

 

The Senior Client Manager is passionate about the work of MDBs and understands their business models with the private sector.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead global coverage of select key clients, build and manage a global network of counterparties to identify potential areas of collaboration.

  • Originate opportunities and working with cross-functional teams across Swiss Re Group to execute them.

  • Leverage MDB public platforms and key events to deepen Swiss Re's public sector client base, understand evolving MDB agendas, and showcase Swiss Re's capabilities.


Zurich is the preferred location; however, candidates from other Swiss Re locations in Europe will be seriously considered.


About the Team

 

This position is withing the global Public Sector Solutions team that works to find new ways to solve public entities' challenges. We provide risk transfer solutions that range from non-traditional products such as catastrophe bonds to insurance coverages for barrier reefs. Our main activities are related to natural catastrophes and weather risks, but also to credit and political risk, agriculture, and life & health.


About You

 

You are versatile, can build rapport quickly, are able to juggle multiple projects at any one time. You enjoy working with experts, recognize missing ingredients in team efforts and are not afraid to take charge.

 

Requirements:

  • Commercial track record of 7+ years in client-facing roles in (re)insurance, banking, financial services.

  • Demonstrated versatility (e.g. broad product range, diverse client base, global focus...), triaging and executing multiple opportunities at any one time.

  • Deep understanding of at least one of the main risks (credit, political risk, natural catastrophe).

  • Understanding the priorities, unique characteristics, and execution capabilities of MDBs are central to effective origination for this role.
