Senior IT Procurement Specialist (Mergers & Acquisitions)
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior IT Procurement Specialist with a strong background in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to join our Pharma client in the Basel area.
This role is critical in managing and optimizing the procurement processes specifically related to IT assets, software, services, and infrastructure during and post-M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the IT procurement landscape, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to drive cost efficiencies while ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Support the IT procurement activities related to M&A, including due diligence, integration planning, and execution. Ensure seamless transition and integration of IT systems and services.
Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Contract Management: Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of IT contracts. Ensure all agreements are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
Analyse and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in IT procurement. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement, including supplier risks, contractual risks, and compliance risks.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure procurement activities align with organizational objectives and M&A goals.
Develop and maintain procurement performance metrics and reports. Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT procurement, with at least 3-5 years focused on M&A activities.
Extensive knowledge of IT procurement processes, contract management, and vendor management.
Proven experience in managing procurement aspects of M&A, including integration planning and execution.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software and tools. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
Onsite presence in Basel : Expected 3 days in a week is a must, 2 days home office
