Located in Stein, Switzerland our successful CDMO Business Unit Drug Product Services (DPS) currently offers exciting opportunities. Become part of a group that enables its customers to meet some of the greatest challenges in patient treatment and join us by applying for the position as QC Microbiology scientist DPS growth project for a new sterile Drug product facility to support quality control and manufacturing related microbiology project activities.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure timely execution of sample testing
Laboratory activities for environmental monitoring, water testing and other microbiological tests according to customer demand
Coordination and Routine execution of microbiological testing and services including environmental monitoring, bacterial endotoxins-, bioburden- and sterility testing etc.
Support major microbiology related projects, such as implementation of new methods, associated with the coordination of qualification of such a new system
Perform, develop and establish and improve microbiological testing procedures, e.g. method suitability testing and provides training for test methods
Supports installation and qualification/re-qualification of laboratory instruments according to Lonza SOPs
Ensures appropriate maintenance of equipment, safety and health protection following laboratory and safety instructions and all cGMP regulations
Trainer for analytical methods and/or corresponding instruments
Key requirements:
Education as Bachelor or Lab Technician or equivalent in Microbiology or Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related fields
Working experience in microbiological testing, preferably in pharmaceutical industry working under cGMP Regulations
Sound working knowledge in all (and in-depth knowledge in at least one) relevant microbiological test types (environmental monitoring, endotoxin and bioburden testing)
Extensive knowledge with automated systems (e.g. Growth direct, Pyrotec Pro) is an asset
Excellent communication skills
Good reporting and scientific skills
Fluency in written and spoken English, German is an asset
Ability to work independently in a team environment and within several teams
