Alpiq is a leading Swiss energy services provider and electricity producer in Europe. The IT Trading Tools and Analysis team provides tools and support to permit day to day activities of Trading and Asset Management. 
As an Application Support Engineer, you will be in direct contact with Traders, Asset Optimizers, Analysts and Middle Office. This position can either be in Olten or in Lausanne.

Your main responsibilities 

  • Develop and maintain small applications satisfying business requirements. 
  • Ensure support of already developed applications, propose solutions to streamline/improve them. 
  • Help and advice users doing development themselves, by providing your expertise and by promoting best practices. 

Your profile

  • Master's degree in computer science, or equivalent 
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a similar position. 
  • Very good knowledge of Excel and Excel VBA 
  • Good knowledge of Python and Pandas and Software Engineering experience
  • Hands on experience with 1st and/or 2nd level support of Business-Critical Applications 
  • Experience in Linux and Windows administration and in writing and optimizing SQL queries 
  • Java, AWS Cloud Services, Bash scripting, Full Stack development appreciated 
  • C#.NET, Outlook VBA can be useful but not mandatory 
  • Fluent in English, French and/or German a plus.
