About This Role

As our new Automation Execution Lead you will provide program management support and technical input for Business Execution System (BES)/Automation group at the Large Scale Manufacturing facility in Solothurn (SOL), Switzerland. This position establishes, drives and executes department and cross functional delivery of operational and Global/Local capital programs. Operational Program includes but not limited to systems administration, lifecycle, roadmap, business continuity, Tech Transfer, complex cross functional changes and improvement initiatives.

You will be responsible for management, coordination of program reporting, metrics, scheduling, resources, across the BES group. The Automation Execution Lead works closely with the Head of BES in Solothurn and his/her direct reports to ensure management of schedule, resources and budget between a matrix team of Process Automation, Computer Systems Validation (CSV), Infrastructure, Automation Core Systems and Compliance, Platform Technical Lead, Local/Global project work stream leads, business process owners, and stakeholders (internal, external, local and global). This resource will also be providing technical input base on defined site strategies (CSV, Configuration Management, Change Control etc.) and and be single point of contact representing SOL Automation for assigned programs. This role will also provide vendor and service agreement management, financial and budget support.

What You'll Do

Develop program and information governance on scope of work, schedules, resource & reports for SOL BES team and systems to drive project execution and deliverables. Enable predictability of group efficiency, adhere and adjust resource allocations with a focus on Quality and Compliance. Scope also includes activities and resources required to integrate SOL systems with global systems and global teams, and major capital projects. This resource will also be providing technical input, be single point of contact representing SOL Automation for assigned programs and lead assigned programs. Provide operational support as required. Support/supplement matrix internal teams in execution and supervise external vendor teams to realize the benefits of projects/programs across their entire lifecycle with on time, on cost and on scope delivery. Review & creation of BES missions, purchase requisitions / orders to enable budget reconciliation & forecasting for CAPEX & OPEX on the cadence required. Monitor internal resources, supervise external resources, to ensure resources are secured to meet Solothurn operational support & program needs meeting SOL technical and Quality standard. Develops strategy to maintain & monitor key performance indicators for program health. Coordinate and lead various BES program/project governance meetings including routine core team / program office/vendor governance meetings as well as escalation, steering and sponsor reviews. Support and coordinate communications within site Automation Teams, global stakeholders, Project Management Office, other site teams and external vendors. Develop and maintain standards, templates, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects (Eg SOW, RFP) or internal use. Assist in the development & review of the SOL BES WFP (work force plan) and AOP to meet Finance deadlines. Assist in finance Purchase Order creation, monitoring and receipt.

Who You Are

You possess extensive expertise in deploying automation systems for Facilities, Utilities, and Manufacturing, encompassing PLC, DCS, MES, and various shop floor automation tools such as historians, PAT, and analytics. Work collaboratively with both internal and external Automation stakeholders to ensure alignment with predetermined operational, global, and local capital program parameters, including scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. degree in one of the following majors or related fields is required: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. 8+ years of Project experience in the Biotech industry with knowledge of GAMP, computer systems/software development lifecycle approach and CSV Project and operational experience with shopfloor systems, such as DCS (DeltaV, PLC), MES (Syncade) and data systems (OSI PI historian, PAT, data analytics such as SIMCA) in BMS, Facility, Utilities, Manufacturing process automation Strong knowledge of project/program management concepts, practices and tools including: Proficient use of Microsoft Project and SharePoint or other similar project tools. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Ability to work autonomously on transversal issues, negotiating across functions with diverse interests. Self-motivated and results-oriented with attention to details. Excellent collaborator with the ability to work well in a team and under pressure, and also independently with little supervision. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (written and verbal). PM and Lean certification desired but not required. Must be fluent in English (Must); German also desired.
